Following the success of webinars we ran toward the end of April under the theme of “Reaching your Audience Digitally”, we have decided to extend the series and will be running the following webinars:

Preparing your material for upload to your digital archive – arrangement, standards and tools

– Using the free Adobe Bridge software, this webinar will show you how to prepare material for upload to your digital archive including issues of arrangement, file formats and standards.

Introduction to IIIF

– This non-technical session will cover the basics of IIIF technology and the IIIF Community, including why the framework is helpful, how it works, and examples of how it can be used. This time slot is intended to be convenient for attendees in the UK Europe, and Africa.

The webinars we ran in April were well received gathering archivists and curators from a number of institutions and organizations. The content of the first webinar was made available in a video in this post. The webinar generated significant response from those looking for direction in how to engage audiences in the midst of the COVID-19 lockdown.

The second webinar helped the participants understand how their users can engage with their digital archive using the MEMAT web interface to their digital archive. The content of that webinar is summarized in this video below:

The third webinar introduced participants to the functionality available to them when administering their MEMAT system, including how to curate content, working with orders and servicing users. That webinar was recorded and can be viewed below:
