How do the physical objects in your collection relate to the digital versions of those objects? René van Son is a collections management and systems consultant at Vernon Systems Ltd’s South Africa office. In this masterclass he is going to assist in answering that question.

What content will be covered?

René will share the latest insights in collections management and digital asset management in heritage institutions with mixed collections (physical and digital items under one roof).

What will I gain?

After attending the masterclass, you will be able to develop a plan for your institution for how to manage both types of collections. Using international standards and common procedures for museums, the plan will be a manual for any situation and process relating to collections in your institution. It will help your institution adhere to legislation and standards on management and digitisation of collections. Participation in the masterclass includes 1 hour post-event free email or telephone support regarding collections management and digital asset management, including receipt of example documents and templates per email.
